I have been confronted not that long ago about my actual commitment to continuity of care. Oh don't get me wrong, it's why I do what I do, but sometimes something just makes you look at what may be equally if not more important.
If you were given the option between having the same person care for you through your pregnancy and birth, or being in a care setting where you knew their philosophy and the infrastructure was more in-line with your pregnancy and birth choices, what would you choose? With the closing of all the birth centres around Melbourne I wonder if the 'Know Your Midwife' program setup within the main hospital is a better choice or not.....
